For the last 12 years I have lived in the
Atlanta, Georgia area. I started with the
Saddlebreds because the stable where I
boarded Cobrena had Saddlebreds. A few shows
and I was hooked. I have owned several
Saddlbreds but currently I own a new black
Saddlebred Country Pleasure Horse named
Leatherwood?s Fanfare aka Rudy. He is a
Reserve World Champion in that division, but
he is new to me so we are working to become
a team.
I also own a Chestnut Saddlebred named
Harlem?s Moonstruck aka Al. Al was injured 2
years ago and lost an eye. It has been a
labor of love to help him recover. He
returned to show ring last year ridden by my
instructor Marti Wilhelm. It is a tribute to
their spirit to see him overcome his
disability thanks to her talent and
dedication.
Rounding out the Saddlebreds is
Worthiness?Birdie to his friends. Birdie is
a retired Park show horse. We use him as a
leg up horse and I even put on a western
saddle and jog to practice my western
riding.
My Morgan at home is a bay gelding named
Lets Roll. He is a Western Pleasure horse
trained by Jordy Johns. I bought him about
this time last year and I am working to get
him ready to show this year.
The newest member of my herd is MEMC
Graffiti. I think for most people she needs
little introduction. I fell in love with her
picture long before I got to meet her and
when I finally got to see her in person I
was smitten! I am excited to see Kelly show
her and help me learn how to show her also.
Outside my ?horse world? I work in the Human
Resources field. I have a B.S. Degree in
Textiles and a Masters Degree in Human
Resource Management. I worked for many years
for the DuPont Company in their Textiles
business. Today I work as Vice President of
Human Resources for a British Engineering
Company called AMEC. My business unit has
offices in the US, Canada, and South
America.
